When I was 20 years old, my friend defended me at a gas station when a guy started a fight with me. However, my friend used a tire iron to defend me, so he was criminally charged. Eventually acquitted on appeal, the case ended up getting media attention and went to civil court on Judge Judy.
This was years ago when Judge Judy first started out on television. There was a civil suit and a counter suit, both of which were dismissed. My experience with civil litigation was definitely an interesting one.
